FASHION ERA: Please tell us about Veit’s journey in last 60 years? Along 20 years with Ramsons?

Mr. Guenter Veit, VEIT GMBH GERMANY : Actually VEIT GMBH GERMANY was founded by my father when I was 2 years old. I am working since 42 years now. My son Christopher Veit joined 5 years ago. So we are third generation now. Pioneering developments in ironing technology triggered the rapid growth of the Landsberg-based machine manufacturer in the 1960s and 70s. Today, the medium-sized company is a global player in industrial garment finishing, with business activities in more than 100 countries. For 60 years, the requirements and the problems of our customers world-wide have been our most important challenge. For decades, world-famous brands in the German and the international garment industry have had confidence in the innovative, high-quality products and services of the VEIT
Group.
Ramsons and Veit collaborated in 1994 with a focus to expand its market presence in the subcontinent of India through introducing technologically advanced Veit Machines.
Our partnership with Ramsons is growing stronger and after coming to India we researched and realised that Indian laundry equipment market is growing at a fast phase as the demand is increasing across many sectors like healthcare, hospitality, government etc and we are here to tap the market.

FASHION ERA: Do you see changes in Indian apparel history, in domestic as well export market ?

Mr. Guenter Veit, VEIT GMBH GERMANY: Changes there were. There were good times and not so good times in Apparel history. In the beginning India was big export market then this slow down competition from Bangladesh and other countries mainly from China came. And I think also political frame work for the Indian exporters was not that favourable. They didn’t get subsidies they did’nt had duty free, many issues. Because of that Indians being very strong entrepreneurs and managers. I think Indian managers found their way to work more to the domestic side of business. That was the tough time of strong growth of shopping centers and brands. The growth was mainly for domestic garments side. Export was not interesting lately. We can see revival of export and market is picking up again.
India becomes again interesting supplier. Few international brands were not favourable they did not want to be associated with Bangladesh.

There are some reasons why international buying houses consider India again. Though it may not be the cheapest and lowest cost country. But it has other advantages so I think in long run we look at the future. India is very positive due to the growth of the population.
Domestic market is sure to grow but I believe the amount of workforce you always need for competitive garment industry for exports. Government should eventually see that how important for India to have competitive garment industry for exports if India signs duty free agreements with Europe then it will boost the garments industry.

FASHION ERA: Please tell us about your latest technologies?

Mr. Guenter Veit, VEIT GMBH GERMANY: Latest technology is mainly energy conservation. In our type of machinery consumes lot of energy which becomes more expensive. Our type of machinery consumes a lot of energy. By reducing the energy by 30% which we manage to do is a big cost saving factor and good for environment. If you get these features all with best quality and reliability of new machine. Our newly launched FX FUSING MACHINE, it is recently launched in India. It look likes spaceship, it is completely different from any fusing machine ever. It is our best selling product though it is expensive but customers appreciate.
We have other machines categories with technology point of view without risking the output you have the productivity. If you have high productivity and same quality then you reduce your energy consumption. Then sustainability can hold you.
One example that underlines these quality claims is the latest fusing machine series. Fifteen years ago, VEIT Group acquired the Kannegiesser fusing technology division and has been continuously refining this machine type ever since. The most recent machine generation FX Diamond unites tried-and-tested technology with state-of-the-art variability, intelligent communication and control functions developed by VEIT.

FASHION ERA: What would you call the future of garment finishing machinery industry? Please explain.

Mr. Guenter Veit, VEIT GMBH GERMANY: With global enterprises, retailers, and brands increasing their activity, for workplace safety, green production and optimised business processes, developing machines that support production processes that are environmentally friendly will shape the future. Machines that provide new visual effects on garments (finishing) and automation, especially using energy conservative machines for automation will be the future of garment finishing machinery industry.

FASHION ERA: More and more apparel manufacturers, especially, in premium segment, are attaching great importance to sustainability. Tell us about your sustainable technologies? ?

Mr. Guenter Veit, VEIT GMBH GERMANY: The main focus is of course on ecological and sustainable production. Finishing machine manufacturers are answerable to their consumers. They need to follow a strategy to fulfil the customer demands for quality and highest output with the lowest energy consumption and minimal wastage of resources. Veit Group has invested in green technologies, for example e Motion series….
Saving energy means cutting cost! The problem: increasing cost pressure in the garment industry.
By relocating production plants increasingly further away from Europe and North America and with raw material prices falling, the garment industry until recently was in a position to continuously reduce production cost.
The VEIT eMotion package is based on 4 elements:
Energy box: contains the central steam conditioning and distribution.
Machine-specific isolation is the key for further savings. Less radiation heat lowers the A/C cost and improves the comfort for the operator.
An intelligent, programmable controller regulates the steam supply. Only the needed amount of steam is fed into the system.
During stand-by, heating is reduced in several steps. Still, it is possible to resume work immediately.
A central remote control unit manages all eMotion machines via WLAN.
In the future all garment manufacturers will have to declare the CO2-emission used during the production process. VEIT guarantees optimal low emissions and makes you ready for the future.

Mr. Guenter Veit, VEIT GMBH GERMANY: We are growing together with Ramsons. They have offices all over. There is no bigger organisation than Ramsons. We cannot think expansion without Ramsons.

BRI-1220 FRONT AND BACK FINAL PRESSING MACHINE
120° Carousel for final pressing of front and back. One for all: This machine is ideal for smaller productions of up to approx. 250 pcs. /day. With one machine the complete front and back of a jacket can be final pressed. The machine is equipped with digital distance pressing so even difficult to finish materials can be pressed without marks or shine.
BRI-2220/401 CLASSIC DOUBLE LEGGER PRESSING MACHINE
Linear travelling frame: Eliminates obstruction in the loading area during positioning- free visibility onto the garment, no heat radiation to the operator.
Vertical head buck closing: transfers even distribution of pressure onto the entire pressing surface and prevents displacement of the garment – Increases quality.
Fixed stretching system on head buck: trouser seams (in- and outside seams) are stretched in order to avoid marks. Lower stretching device returns only after the trouser is removed.

With its Cotton Care module, the VEIT 8657 Tunnel Finisher achieves unrivaled finishing results, even for difficult-to-process natural fibres.
In the Steam Module the garment is treated with saturated steam making the garment swell and formable. The circulating air module with its elaborate air flow straightens the garment and fixes the result by drying the garment.

Tunnel Finisher is based on a modular system to allow a wide variety of individual solutions. Requirements or applications have changed? No problem at all. Upgrading or extending a tunnel is easy.
Small sized Tunnel Systems can reach a productivity of up to 1000 garments / h (C+1+2).
Medium sized Tunnelfinishers can reach up to 1500 garments / h (C+2+2).
Large sized Steam Tunnels can reach productivities of up to more than 2200 garments / h (C+3+4).
